According to the Crucible Theatre’s website, rehearsals for Hamlet began this week in Sheffield! Good luck to John with these! 
On Gallery news – you may have noticed our pretty gallery theme has gone. This is because I had to upgrade the Coppermine software, and our old theme was no longer compatible with the new version. Hopefully, a new gallery layout will be added soon!
The gallery should now be viewable properly – I hadn’t realised the new version was set to view for registered users only – I’ve changed this now! Also, the new version automatically resizes large images to your screen resolution – however if you save pictures, the big shiny version will be saved to your computer!
Right, following on from my previous post about the Open Hiatus…
The site will remain open, and will have news updated as and when it occurs. The gallery will continue to be updated with photos in the following categories – Events / Photoshoots / Production Stills. However future works will not be screencaptured, as this is simply too time-consuming for me now!
I will reconsider the site’s future again once the domain is up for renewal next Summer.
Hey all!
At the moment, I am pondering the future of John Simm Online. I recently gave birth to my first child, and am now offline for increasingly long periods of time, as obviously she is my priority now.
So, I am at a loss with what to do with the site. It seems a shame to delete it, especially since the domain is registered for another 15months, and the gallery is such a good resource for John pictures.
So for the moment, I am placing the site on a open hiatus – this means the site is still open for viewing, but will not be updated in the meantime.
I will post further news, as I decide what to do with the site.
Sooo… Next week brings the curtain down on the Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes story. Will we see an appearance from John as Sam Tyler? According to Wikipedia we might do, but as it has not been confirmed by members of the Ashes team, take this as pure speculation.
Although, there was that familiar shadow mysteriously knocking on Gene’s office window in the ‘Next Week’ trailer at the end of this week’s episode…

Wikipedia has removed the listing of Episode 8 of Ashes from John’s fillmography. Obviously somebody trying to have a little bit of fun and cause a fuss! It’s just going to be a case of wait and see what happens I think. Either way though, we should find out the truth about what happened to Sam Tyler!
It seems that when the site underwent the numerous recent server changes, it messed up the Media sub-domain’s wordpress installation and stopped it working. Unfortunately, I only realised today! I’ve moved the media back to the main site now, and it is accessible through the link at the top again.
Apologies again for the downtime – my host has merged with another, and an inevitable server move took place again. DNS took longer to resolve than expected which is what resulted in the downtime.
I’ve added a handful of images to the gallery – some new HQ’s from The South Bank Show Awards in January, and an unknown event in March.

Hi guys,
Again, many apologies for the recent downtime again – a few days after resolving the last issue, my host’s server got hacked, and back-up restores took much longer than expected! Hopefully, this will be the last of the problems we’ve endured recently, and if anything else happens, I will look into finding somewhere more reliable to home John Simm Online.
Unfortunately, the most recent back-up available has missed out the screencaptures from “The Yellow House” so I will work at getting them back up on the site within the next couple of days!
The site has now been moved – it was done overnight last night, so I’m not sure how much downtime was experienced (if any) but my new host was kind enough to do the transfer for me, and it appears to have gone smoothly!

I do have The Yellow House and Clocking Off sat on my hard-drive waiting to be captured, and hopefully they’ll be up in the gallery by the weekend! I’m attempting to “complete” the gallery as much as possible, whilst news about John is so quiet.
As you can see, we have another new look! This is courtesy of the wonderful Ronie @ SLO Designs, and I really love it! Simple yet clear!
There has also been a gallery update – Boston Kickout screencaptures have been added, and a new event from 2009 where John attended the Gala screenings of the Christmas Doctor Who specials. Unfortunately the Event images are tagged, but I am on the lookout for untagged images to replace these!

As you may see, we’ve undergone another layout change. A number of complaints about the darkness of the last layout prompted this, despite a number of other positive comments regarding it. Hopefully this one will meet with more approval, although I admit I don’t like this one so much.
Please let me know regarding any problems with it, and I will do my best to rectify it immediately.
