I am in need of some staff for John-Simm.org. I have a tonne of stuff I want to do to the site, but simply not enough time in the day to do it all, as well as having a life.
You must have experience of working on websites (PHP / FTP knowledge is a must!). It will mainly be for updating the news (using WordPress) and the gallery (using Coppermine). I am particularly looking for someone to make HQ screencaptures of ‘The Devil’s Whore’ and Life On Mars, Series 2. If you are interested, email me @ heather@john-simm.org . I reserve the right to be a little fussy over who I entrust to work on the site though!
I’ve added photos from the Radio Times Party which John attended this week. I’ve also added photoshoot 20 to the Gallery, containing previously missed photos! Scroll down to the Latest Images to see what has been added!
Also check out http://www.johnsimmsociety.com/ (I will add this to the features on the sidebar asap!), for more Simmy goodness!

John recently attended the South Bank Show Awards alongside wife Kate Macgowan, where The Devil’s Whore won the award for ‘Best TV Drama’. These awards are to be televised on Wednesday 28th January (10.35PM, ITV1).
I have added 8 images from this event to the Gallery, including a couple at HQ.
The Media section is now back up and running! There are avatars and wallpapers for your use, and some small video files to download. I am working at updating the video page with more updates, and hope to have a few more to download fairly soon. I’ve added 3 wallpapers which are all available in 4 different resolutions to suit all desktop needs! The avatars page has also had a few newbies added to it too.
Enjoy!
I’ve added screencaptures from ‘The Canterbury Tales: A Knights Tale‘ to the Gallery, over 500 of them!
I was aiming to get the Media section of the site up by tonight, but I’ve been hit by a sickness bug, so this will take a couple of extra days I’m afraid. It will be up and running as soon as possible.
I’ve finally finished uploading the gallery to the new server, and I’ve added some new(ish) pictures from the 2008 premiere of ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’. There is now over 3700 photos in the gallery, with a lot more on the way!
I’m very glad to see we’ve got our Google rating back, following our short stint at GoDaddy. Hopefully, this will bring lots more viewers and fans of John Simm!
As a recent visitor told me I’ve apparently ruined this site (despite all the previous content being added by myself anyway), I’ve decided to let you know the plans I have for the site. The following content will be added as soon as possible;
- Lots more screencaptures to the Gallery – I’ve got Life on Mars series 2 to capture, and The Canterbury Tales – A Knight’s Tale to do. This with the forthcoming releases of The Devil’s Whore and Tuesday (both DVDs are released on 23rd February) will keep me very busy.
- The media content is being revamped. All wallpapers that were previously featured were 1024×768 at the highest resolution. With computer screens being increasingly widescreen, I will be creating more wallpapers to cater for these, including 1200×800, 1280×800 and 1440×900 sizes.
- I hope to add more videos to the site, available for download. If this is not possible, I will set up an account on YouTube for the site. Either way, we aim to bring more Simmy goodness to your desktop.
So there you have it – I have big plans for this site, to bring it back to being the best John Simm fansite available on the net! If you have any questions or queries about the above, or have something to donate to the site, do not hesitate to contact me @ heather@john-simm.org!
Many apologies for the never ending changes, I’m hoping this will be the last. I was simply not happy with the hosting provided by GoDaddy, so I’ve moved to JustHost.com who seem to provide much more. I will work hard getting the gallery back (again!) so hopefully it’ll be sorted by the weekend!
